I’m excited to share my newest painting, Archangel Gabriel. In creating this piece, I utilized a long-stemmed perfume rose from Ecuador, celebrated for its high vibrations, to meticulously detail the wings and hair. Additionally, I crafted his robe from another white rose from Ecuador, layering the petals in his robe and finishing with interference (light-refracting) paint. Gold leaf was hand-applied to his halo, and I documented the entire process in a video, showcasing my technique. This was shared on the Joanne Koenig Macko Facebook page which showcases Joanne’s art. There is also a video on that page showing how Joanne applied the gold leaf for his aura or halo.
Gabriel translates to “God is my strength,” and he stands as one of seven archangels. He is often represented holding a gold horn or trumpet, a powerful symbol of delivering important messages from the Creator and awakening to higher wisdom. His colors—white, copper, and gold—carry significant meaning. He is the Announcer for God. Notably, his feast day is September 29th. Gabriel embodies purity, truth, and clarity, serving as a beacon of inspiration and enlightenment. He is also a nurturing force, providing comfort and support to those embarking on new journeys or facing significant life changes. Moreover, he is the guardian angel of all messengers, including individuals working in television, broadcasting, radio, and postal services. This archangel’s trumpet powerfully signifies both the delivery of essential messages and the awakening to higher wisdom.
